Is Myer’s Cocktail A Form of IV Therapy?

June 22, 2023 by Dr. Daniel Hoover

The short answer is yes. Myer’s cocktail is, in fact, a form of IV therapy.

But what is IV therapy, and why is Myer’s cocktail IV therapy becoming increasingly popular?

Join me as we explore the Myers cocktail IV therapy and why you should know about it.

What is IV therapy?

IV therapy is an effective way to deliver nutrients, vitamins, and minerals to the body. Typically the IV drip is used in medical settings to provide medicine. Supplements can be administered directly into the bloodstream.

This method bypasses the digestive system, which can reduce the concentration of vitamins and minerals available to the body compared to IV therapy. IV therapy allows for the maximum absorption of nutrients with minimal waste.

Other forms of IV therapy include Ozone therapy. Ozone has amazing anti-inflammatory properties, which can help combat viral infections. Oftentimes you can do both forms of IV therapy together.

What is Myer’s Cocktail

The Myer’s cocktail perfectly blends vitamins and minerals, including Vitamin C, B Complex, Magnesium, and Calcium. Through IV therapy, the body can use these nutrients far more efficiently than taking an oral supplement. This is mainly because the dose is concentrated and bypasses the digestive system.

What Is Myer’s Cocktail Used For?

Myer’s cocktail’s usefulness has been known to aid with a variety of conditions and be helpful as a preventative measure. Some of the conditions it helps with include:

  • Boost Immune System
  • Improves Blood Circulation
  • Relieves Migraines
  • Dehydration
  • Fatigue
  • Respiratory Problems
  • Mental Health

Many patients will experience an immediate boost of energy following Myer’s cocktail IV therapy. As the therapy is continued, often, further benefits will be noticed.

The vitamins and minerals within Myer’s cocktail IV therapy are crucial in how the body regains balance. For example, the body can take advantage of the anti-inflammatory properties of Vitamin C through IV therapy to reduce inflammation and decrease pain caused by migraines.

Is Myer’s Cocktail Right for Me?

Myers cocktail IV therapy is excellent for nearly everyone, from people with active lifestyles who want to keep their bodies healthy. Myer’s cocktail IV therapy is generally safe for adults. There won’t be adverse reactions to Myer’s blend.

Though with many intravenous practices, there are some potential risks involved. Such as allergic reactions caused by the serum or instruments used to administer the IV. though this only occurs if the patient is unaware that they are allergic to it.

You should also disclose any medication you are currently taking, as these can sometimes have an adverse reaction when combined with the nutrients in Myer’s cocktail IV therapy. If you’re unsure if your medication may negatively react to Myer’s cocktail IV therapy, feel free to ask the helpful staff at SOHMA for any information regarding your unique case.
